14 weeks!

Wow, it really feels like time is going so fast these days. Seems like just yesterday we found out, and now we are closing in on four months!

It has been a fun week. My birthday was Monday, my cousin and her family got here Weds. for a visit, my brother and his fam will get here today and then tomorrow is our annual Leo Lovers/Safari party! Yay!

Spent yesterday afternoon at Cherry Hill waterpark with the family. Had lots of fun and we saw a couple families with very little babies there. It was a little surreal to imagine that a year from now that will be us (well, maybe not the taking the baby to a water park part- but the new baby part!)

Today we are doing the Temple Square touristy stuff. Shanon and her family have never been to Utah before, so its a good excuse for us to go see the Square again. Looking forward to it!

Here is our update for week 14-
Your adorable baby is busy with thumb sucking, toe wiggling and (not as cute, but equally amazing) making urine and breathing amniotic fluid, as the liver, kidneys and spleen continue to develop. A thin, downy hair called lanugo is begining to cover the body for warmth.

Week 13

Your baby is now forming teeth and vocal cords. Baby is approaching normal proportions with the head approximately one third the size of the body. Intestines are in the process of moving from the umbilical cord to the body (much more convienent!)

Dr is 80% sure...

its a boy!

When we started the u/s the Dr was joking because the baby had his hands between his legs and he said "Thats a typical boy position". He was asleep at first so it took a couple prods from the Dr to get him up and moving but as soon as he did there was all kinds of bouncing! On the video at about 50 seconds there is a great 'money shot' of the goods.

Dr also advised that we are now officially out of the first trimester and that our risk at this point is less than 1%!

12 weeks

We now have less than 200 days to go! The milestones just keep coming... Developmentally we are now considered out of the 1st trimester. After weeks of critical development almost all of baby's systems are now fully formed! As we move into the 2nd trimester the baby now shifts into a growth and maturation phase.

11 weeks!

Your fetus's head is currently as large as the rest of its body, and has skin so transparent that the blood vessels show right through. But, fingers and toes are no longer webbed, and hair follicles, tooth buds and nail beds are forming- setting up a significantly more attractive future!

10w4d Appt.

Went great! Heartbeat is very, very strong and the little one was wiggling and bouncing around! Our Dr. mentioned that there is a possibility that we *may* be able to tell the gender at our next appointment in two weeks. :) (He focuses in on that area a few times and even said that he could make a guess, but that it was still a little early)

The marshmallow looked very much like a baby, its crazy how much they grew in just two weeks. I cried when the baby started moving around during the u/s, I think its finally starting to feel like things just might work out fine!

Here's some video- the graph across the bottom of the screen in a couple spots is the heartbeat... You can see and hear how fast and regular it is! There is a little bit of movement right around and after the 1 minute mark, you can see the baby bring his/her arms up and it looks like they may be sucking their thumb!

Love to you all...

10 weeks!

Week 10 is here!

With bones and cartilage starting to form and vital organs begining to function, baby is making major progress. Body length will almost double in the next three weeks and arm joints are now working (soon legs will be too!).
